Solo Travel Tips: Let’s Start the Conversation

The Jolly Green Giant in Blue Earth, Minnesota

When not globe trekking , I travel around the U.S. & Canada in my red truck, “Bert” (named by my friends Steve & Karen and short for Big Red Truck), pulling my 18” T@B 400. Custom built by NüCamp RV in Sugarcreek, Ohio, my camper allows me to go off grid with solar panels and not rely on external water and electric. To honor our adventures, I named her Ameli@.

Like most solo women travelers, I get a lot of questions related to safety and route planning. Recently fellow camper, Jenn Grover, started a series of videos about solo women and our experiences. In this first of several, she and I discuss what it’s like learning to pull a camper.
