Gliding easily into the Caribbean and packing away winter clothes
Life onboard after New York has settled into a different rhythm – the weather is warmer as we sail south and we have expanded out onto decks. Those wanting a tan to show for their winter holiday have begun staking out lounge chairs, and there is now music out on deck. Since New York, there has also been a spike in covid cases. The infected passengers and crew are in isolation for a minimum of 6 days and then tested daily after that. Settling in to life on Queen Victoria
The staff on the Queen Mary 2 did a stellar job of arranging transfer of both luggage and person for those of us continuing on the world voyage on Queen Victoria. The immigration process had been done onboard and I was in my cabin by lunchtime. Southampton did an amazing job of sending off the two Queens, Mary & Victoria, on their world voyages. Solo cruising and crossing the Atlantic!
*NOTE: I wrote this blog while spending 2 weeks crossing the Atlantic. During that time, the world turned upside down with the COVID-19 pandemic and it wasn’t until we docked in Barcelona, that we knew how serious things had become.
